Victim of fatal Cork assault named locally as 36-year-old father-of-four

A MAN IN his 30s has died after he was the victim of an assault in Mitchelstown, Cork, last night.

The 36-year-old has been named locally as father-of-four Patrick O’Donnell, who lived in the locality.

The incident happened at Willie Andies pub at around 11pm. There was an altercation between the deceased man and another man inside the pub.

O’Donnell collapsed shortly after the assault. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gardaí were called to the scene and arrested a man in his 20s.
